Stakeholders from across the Danube Region gathered in Budapest for the closing conference of the EU-funded INTERREG DRP AQUATIC PLASTIC project, celebrating years of collaboration to combat riverine plastic pollution.
The event showcased innovative tools, research findings, pilot actions, and policy recommendations developed by the international consortium to reduce macro- and microplastic pollution and strengthen transnational cooperation. Project partners highlighted the importance of continued action, knowledge sharing, and coordinated governance to protect the Danube and other European waterways for future generations.
