Environmental Innovation Forum – October 28, 2025

Location: KSZGYSZ 1024 Budapest, Keleti Károly u. 11/A.

Date: October 28, 2025 (Tuesday) 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Planned program:

1:00 p.m.: Welcome and presentation of the KEXPORT Cluster’s innovation and technology transfer strategy

Anna Istenes, KSZGYSZ Director of International Relations and Communications, KEXPORT Cluster Project Manager

  • The cluster will prepare all qualified cluster applications in the fall of 2025, the main element of which will be the preparation of an updated cluster strategy. This will highlight the innovation results and further RDI ideas of member companies, as these provide a good basis for entering foreign markets. However, it is worth considering and integrating the similar activities of all KSZGYSZ member companies outside the cluster into the aforementioned strategy in order to promote the further development of the cluster and enable wider export marketing.

1:30 p.m.: EU tenders that can be implemented in international partnerships and their applicability for entering foreign markets

Laura Egresi, Institutional Expert and Project Manager, HEPA International and Sustainability Office

  • Számos uniós támogatási lehetőség áll rendelkezésre, amelyeket hazai környezetvédelmi vállalkozások felhasználhatnak nemzetközi technológiafejlesztési célú projektek, illetve külföldi kapacitások létrehozását elősegítő beruházások megvalósítására, mint például a LIFE környezetvédelmi projektek, a nyugat-balkáni térségben elérhető IPA III előcsatlakozási források, INTERREG határon átnyúló és Duna Régió Stratégia együttműködések, I3 innovációs fejlesztések, EUKI európai klímavédelmi kezdeményezések, valamint kisebb léptékű, a Visegrádi Alapból megvalósuló regionális együttműködések. Irodánk aktívan figyelemmel kíséri a közvetlen uniós és egyéb nemzetközi pályázati felhívásokat a hazai cégek exportlehetőségeinek javítása céljából, amelyekről szívesen adunk tájékoztatást – különösen a prioritásként kezelt – környezetvédelmi projektek támogatása érdekében.

2:00 p.m.: EU and government support available in Hungary for the implementation of R&D&I activities by domestic companies and appropriate innovation management by companies

Attila Pál, Innovation Manager and Grant Expert, Európa Universitas Kft.

  • In recent years, the conditions for research and development projects in the domestic tender system have become much stricter, but this year they have been simplified and in the coming period, nearly HUF 180 billion will be available in the GINOP Plus program for the implementation of traditional corporate and specifically large-scale corporate R&D projects, as well as for supporting the market launch of SME innovation results. Under the latter, nearly half of the maximum HUF 600 million in funding available can be used to develop the infrastructure necessary for the production or provision of the innovative product or service in question. A fundamental condition for receiving funding is the achievement of a higher level of innovation (TLR) than a given level, and incorrect determination of this level can cause problems even after the project has been completed with the funding. We will discuss these issues in the presentation, as well as the related KSH data reporting and tax incentives.

2:30 p.m.: Environmental challenges in the Balkans and the technological developments required to address them in the region

Balázs Morvai, Project Manager, Palota Environmental Protection Ltd.

  • Over the past two years, we have become quite familiar with the problems caused by industrial waste and site contamination in the Balkans and have established numerous professional contacts in the region. In the Western Balkans, where municipal landfills with adequate technical protection are currently few and far between, recycling is only carried out on a very limited scale, and there is an almost complete lack of capacity for the treatment, disposal, and utilization of hazardous industrial waste. With the support of HEPA and KEXPORT, we organized a two-day professional conference in Skopje in the spring, which was attended by more than 30 experts from the region who presented the most important problems in their respective countries. We would like to share these experiences at the forum and are looking for partners for our planned projects in the region.

3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. FORUM DISCUSSION

A brief overview of the innovation results, experiences, and plans of the participating companies, as well as a forum discussion on the implementation of possible joint projects.
