Damage Prevention and Remediation Working Group 

The HAEE Damage Prevention and Remediation Working Group has set the assessment, registration, and cleanup of Hungary’s contaminated areas as a major goal. We also support brownfield investments in all forums, based on the principles of natural resource protection and cost-effectiveness. 

The activities and objectives of the working group can be summarized as follows: 

Professional self-organization and cooperation: The members of the working group are representatives of companies with decades of experience who ensure their continuous development and the application of the best solutions through professional self-organization. They work closely with authorities, local governments, state agencies, and regional development agencies, providing professional support for the preparation of calls for proposals and facilitating decision-making processes. In addition, our goal is to bring together domestic organizations and inform them about the latest domestic and international innovations, grant opportunities, and networking opportunities. 

Organization of professional forums and conferences: The working group has organized several professional forums and conferences and regularly contributes to the organization of the RE:BROWN conference, which presents the latest techniques and strategies related to remediation and brownfield investments. These events provide an opportunity for the professional community, the public, and decision-makers to learn about the latest information. 

Remediation Guide: One of the working group’s key projects was the development of the Remediation Guide, which provides guidance on the effective and professional cleanup of contaminated sites. This guide assists professionals and decision-makers in the planning and implementation of remediation processes. 

Professional integrity and ethical standards: The working group is committed to professional integrity and ethical standards and strives to enforce them in remediation activities. This includes the application of best practices and strict compliance with environmental regulations.
