NetZero-ESG Working Group

Preparing for climate change and its effects – more frequent and intense weather extremes, natural disasters, soil and biodiversity degradation, disruption of water management balance, etc. – as well as social and economic changes is one of the most important challenges of our time. Numerous international agreements, planning documents, strategies, and now even legislation in Europe, Hungary, and around the world address this issue, but mitigating the root causes and their effects requires concrete action and specific interventions. The most widespread tool for this is Net Zero, which, when integrated into corporate strategy, means conscious, step-by-step decarbonization, approaching zero carbon dioxide emissions over the next decades. However, action against climate change can only be successful if we address all aspects of sustainability, in particular resource efficiency, social responsibility, and governance issues. The two topics are inseparable, so in 2024, the working group expanded its activities to include ESG. 

Through interdependent supply and supplier value chains, the working group aims to provide a professional forum for topics that affect virtually everyone and their key aspects, such as 

• energetics, 

• logistics, 

• raw material procurement, 

• manufacturing, 

• packaging and waste management, 

• and product use. 

Our goal is to collect and share best practices, identify financing and support opportunities, provide information about them, and formulate joint proposals and recommendations that catalyze Net Zero and ESG sustainability strategies. We consider it an important task to monitor changes in both European and domestic legislation.
