The KSZGYSZ RE:BROWN remediation conference is coming again in the fall!

Our association's biennial international remediation conference will be held this year on October 2, 2024, within the framework of the largest green industry event, the ENVIRONTEC environmental trade exhibition. The application has started, EARLY BIRD tickets are available until July 31!

WHAT IS RE:BROWN ABOUT?

The focal topic of the conference is related to one of the priority topics of the Hungarian EU presidency in the second half of 2024, soil pollution, the development of EU framework rules for measures aimed at preventing pollution and eradicating pollution. Within this framework, Hungary also fulfills EU legislative tasks. In the planned legislation, measures related to the assessment, registration and restoration of contaminated soils will be regulated. 
The development of the legislation is closely related to the European Commission's New Soil Strategy adopted in 2021, in which medium- and long-term (2050) measures aimed at the comprehensive protection of soils, which are currently missing from the EU environmental protection legislation, have been defined, in connection with the EU environmental protection strategies in force. In addition, the renovation of the domestic remediation regulations is underway, with an emphasis on the rehabilitation of brownfield and rust zone areas in addition to the remediation of contaminated areas.

Our invited speakers will be domestic and international professionals who are well-versed in the current affairs of the topic, with the help of which the participating professionals will have the opportunity to:

• domestic and EU remediation issues and current problems of contaminated areas,
• the goals-plans,
• to discuss legislative and executive tasks,
• to share good practices and techniques,
• to learn about the use of abandoned industrial/commercial/military/transport facilities for new functions

The conference registration also includes a professional ticket to the ENVIRONTEC exhibition, where informal discussions, networking and exchange of ideas will be possible as part of a reception at the end of the program.
